Ergonomic furniture specialist Secretlab won the Singapore Quality Control Initiative of the Year - Consumer Goods category at the coveted Manufacturing Asia Awards 2024 for its mobile app QC Blitz which has accelerated response times and streamlined feedback to product development.

Built on a business communication platform, QC Blitz empowers Secretlab’s quality control teams to report quality issues in real-time, collaborate with other internal teams and factory staff, as well as schedule daily checks. This slashes the response time for factory alerts by 400%, enabling quicker issue resolution and enhanced production monitoring.

The app also introduces advanced reporting features, giving deeper insights, improved trend analysis, and stronger collaboration with factory partners.

Real-time monitoring for quality issues is done through a defect kanban, wherein issues can be sorted and filtered according to criteria. This allows quality control teams to identify, prioritise, and resolve defects faster. The app enables immediate alerts and notifications for response without delay, triggering instant corrective actions, and minimising impacts on production.

As these issues are analysed, a weekly newsletter is also sent out to stakeholders to provide a high-level overview of weekly progress, key risks, and strategic insights. Secretlab further improves quality management by enhancing capabilities in tracking data in real-time, identifying patterns, and enabling timely actions.

These capabilities further strengthened its quality control processes, contributing to increased customer satisfaction, significant warranty cost savings, and greater new product development efficiency.
