Bosch Global Software Technologies clinches win at Asian Export Awards 2024 for unique TMS platform
The data in and out of Travis is smooth, standardised, and structured.
Software development services provider Bosch Global Software Technologies nabbed the India Logistics Initiative of the Year - Logistics title at the coveted Asian Export Awards 2024 for its groundbreaking cloud-based transportation management system (TMS) solution Travis 2.0 that seamlessly and securely executes financial transactions through the smart utilisation of blockchain technology.
Travis boasts a fully integrated system, providing comprehensive end-to-end visibility. It encompasses the creation of invoices across multiple enterprise resource planning platforms to the dispatch and delivery of trips, even extending to logistics services provider (LSP) payments and beyond.
By harnessing the TMS, Bosch gains the ability to effectively monitor diverse processes. This includes evaluating LSP performance, assessing dispatch efficiency at plants and warehouses, and optimising truck utilisation and freight costs.
The solution extends an e-commerce-like experience to valued customers, integrating with advanced SMS notifications and live tracking for added convenience and engagement. It also offers the pinnacle of streamlined operations — automation.
Significant strides have been made with Travis, yielding impressive results with IT cost savings of INR17.7m annually, coupled with 12,600 saved man-hours. Its environmental impacts also shine through, with 720 trees saved per year and a 12% improvement on truck utilisation. These metrics also lead to reduced carbon footprint.
At the same time, it takes pride in accuracy: recording a 0% error rate in invoice processing and 75% of invoice payments being posted within the same month. The latter has led to a remarkable 80% reduction in end-to-end lead time.
The journey towards digitalisation is also evident, with a remarkable achievement of 100% digital PODs and invoice processing.
Travis’ development comes amidst the absence of end-to-end integration between transportation and payments, with Bosch having to grapple with the complexity of managing over 50 IT systems.
