Acer advances e-bike tech for greener mobility
The company leverages AI and IoT to improve battery efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Acer is pushing the boundaries of e-mobility by integrating AI and IoT technologies into its cycling products to support environmental goals and enhance rider safety.
“We have the AI technology to personalize your cycling experience, and it's also optimising the battery usage,” said Jake Tsai, Director, E-mobility, Gadget Product Business, Acer Incorporated.
Tsai added during the Taipei Cycle 2025 that AI-powered systems are now being used to alert riders of oncoming traffic or obstacles and trigger automatic braking for added safety. “The system can start to break for you automatically, so you will keep your safety,” he said.
Despite growing opportunities, Tsai warned that trade tensions and past inventory issues could impact industry growth. “We hope they won't impact consumer competence too much,” he said.
E-bikes, Tsai said, will continue to lead the cycling market.
