SSIA reveals new board members lineup amidst Industry Transformation roadmap
Four board members will step down.
To continue goals for the Industry Transformation Roadmap 2025, the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) announced a new set of board members.
This after SSIA board chairman Andrew Chong left from the board after two terms of office. Three other members, who were not identified, also stepped down.
Here are the new members:
New Chairman: Jennifer Teong, manufacturing & quality vice president, Silicon Labs International
Vice Chairman: Brian Tan, regional president, sea & vp, Applied Global Services Applied Materials, Inc
Honorary Secretary: Tan Yew Kong, senior vice president and general manager, Singapore Site, GlobalFoundries Singapore
Treasurer: Chen Seok Ching, vice president, Marvell Technology (Assembly and Test Operations) & country manager for Singapore
Board Member: CS Chua, president and managing director at Infineon Technologies
Board Member: Chiou Lid Jian, managing director at STATS ChipPAC Ltd
Board Member: Tan Geok Hong, vice president of fe ops strategic program and central pie at Micron Technology
Three main pillars
In 2023, the chipmaker association will also focus on talent enhancement, strengthening the semiconductor industry ecosystem, and sustainability.
They are looking at setting up a committee to create a sustainability framework with firms, agencies, and academia.
SSIA is also looking at helping companies, especially small and medium sized enterprises, to tap technological innovations to improve business performance.
SSIA will also “continue its work on building and nurturing IC design students following the success of its first Summer Camp in this arena earlier this year.”
