Samsung Electronics’ smartphone shipments to rise 4% in 2023

This as the market launches new models in emerging markets.

Smartphone shipments of Samsung Electronics are likely to grow 4% year-on-year in the fiscal year of 2023 due to new models, CGS-CIMB, said in its brokerage report.

CGS-CIMB expects the SEC's smartphone shipments to increase 4% year-on-year, outperforming its expectation for global smartphone shipments to inch up 1% year-on-year.

This is expected to be driven by market share gains in the low-end (<£300) smartphone segment as Samsung launches models targeting emerging markets, as well as growth in the foldable smartphone market.
