China auto output, sales see double-digit growth in February
Total car production surpassed 2.1 million units
China's automobile industry showed robust growth in February, with both production and sales experiencing double-digit growth due to vigorous market activity and increased production, according to industry data released in March.
Last month, total car production exceeded 2.1 million units, marking a 39.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Sales also rose by 34.4% year on year, reaching nearly 2.13 million units, as reported by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The association attributed this positive momentum to the implementation of an expanded trade-in program for vehicles, as well as growing demand fuelled by technological advancements and new product upgrades.
Additionally, the data revealed continued strong performance in the new energy vehicle sector, with sales soaring 87.1% year on year to 892,000 units in February, which represented 41.9% of total new vehicle sales for the month.
